MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking applicants for a Software Engineer to join our technical team. We’re hiring for someone that is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and can successfully navigate complexity and ambiguity; that can make informed decisions, and knows when to reference documentation and when to ask for advice; and leaves things better than they found them.

We are looking for someone that will:

• Write, test, and maintain software across the stack
• Participate in architecture decisions
• Work with stakeholders to determine the best course of action
• Communicate well and feels at home working cross-functionally

You’ll be working on products like:

• API platform for programmatic access to our corpus
• Internal tooling and infrastructure to enable the work of our data scientists
• Our automated bespoke web crawler
• Productization of machine learning models

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTITUDE

Essential

• Prior experience working on a software product
• Familiarity with any dynamic web programming language
• Professional fluency in English

Preferred

• Problem solver and doer; someone who just "steps up."
• Past experience working as part of a remote/virtual team.

LOCATION

Remote working. Based in the UK or Germany. Competitive salary based on location, skills and experience. Occasional travel, including transatlantic, may be necessary.

HOURS AND TERMS

Working hours are flexible. Full-time (37.5 per week). As a global organization, some flexibility for cross-time zone communication to be available for limited virtual meetings outside of office hours is required. Competitive salary based on location and expertise. UK - £30,000 - £45,000 Germany - €30,000 - €45,000
